Happy Halloween

The boys had a great time on Halloween and were in serious candy over load. Colin was dressed up as Spiderman (thank you AZ Fullers for that Christmas present ) and Holden was a duck. I didn’t know if Holden would wear the costume or not but once he saw Colin dressed up he wanted to be in the Duck costume all day.

Colin went trick or treating to the commercial area by our house with his preschool during the day. Then at night we went around our block. Colin was excited from the get go and Holden started really getting into it by about the 3rd house. It would go something like this:

Holden struggles up 15 wet steps in his little costume.
Holden knocks on the door (barely audible by the people inside – not to worry because Colin talks so loud they could hear us)
Colin would yell trick or treat
The people inside would remark on what a cute little girl Holden was (long eyelashes and a fuzzy duck costume…what can I say)
I would correct people and tell them Holden was a boy.
Meanwhile Holden would grab a piece of candy and Colin would slyly stuff his 4th and 5th piece in his bucket.
Repeat.

Then we came home and told them they could each pick one thing to eat. The both chose the full size Snickers bar. We had to stop Holden from eating it all – he definitely would have. Colin spent most of the next day dumping, counting, browsing and reorganizing his candy. Thankfully most of it is gone now.
