Few quick pics

Chuck and holden 3 months

No update on the move quite yet…house prep is taking us much longer than expected. Chuck is on his way to Seattle soon though - so hopefully a job is on the horizon.

We just got back from Memorial Weekend up north - first trip with 2 kids and I can’t really say it was relaxing, but still fun. Colin insisted on listening to Frank Sinatra much of the way up and back and while we were up there. Today he sang a full version of “fly me to the Moon” for everyone at the park, while he was swinging. It was pretty funny.

Colin has become quite the little computer whiz now. He is playing games and using the mouse all by himself and everything. He can play this Sesame Street game where you pick the objects that start with the letter for hours on end. He is still obsessed with Tivo. When he was about 18 months he pulled off the sticker and then was super upset that “Tivo broke” - so now he uses Tivo as a verb when something is broken. For example we went to return bottles at the grocery store and the machines were broken (man was he upset), as we were leaving he said “We can’t use them? They are tivo’d?” The other day he also told me that his bunny has “Tivo ears” - because it looks like the antenna (rabbit ears) on the Tivo logo. He doesn’t even watch that much TV…but he has always been a sucker for corporate logos.

Not to leave Holden out…poor little sweet guy…he is doing well. Sleeping in his crib and he has started to roll on his sides. He talks up a storm - so I have no doubt he will be able to hold his own with Colin. He is also a drooling machine - thought he might be getting teeth - but it is a bit early. Colin likes to give me parenting advice and often tells me, in the midst of Holden screaming, that “Holden is crying mommy”

Alright - well many of you may know we are most likely moving to Seattle or New York in the next couple of months. So aside from taking care of a 2 1/2 year old who thinks he is about 12 and a 3 month old (as of today!) we are also trying to fix up our house to get ready to list it (in about 1-2 weeks) and Chuck is looking for a job. We don’t have any details about when or where we are moving, but we will keep you all posted.

But on to the real blog subjects…the boys:

Holden is now 3 months. He is a big boy - I would saying weighing in at about 14 1/2 pounds. He is all smiles and gives them out very generously. He laughed for the first time about a week ago - just at something I said, I can’t remember what it was so random. He is also very ticklish and will laugh if you tickle his tummy - very cute. He loves to listen to people talk, especially real estate marketing pitches. He is also pretty vocal and making lots of sounds. Sleeping has not been going quite as well. He is now in his crib and out of the swaddle, which means he wakes up a lot during the night. So it isn’t as easy as it was a few weeks ago…I knew sleeping through the night wouldn’t last - ah, but it was great while it did.

So on to Colin. He has a new favorite song which he insists we sing all the time - Fly me to the Moon, which he will tell you is by Frank Sinatra. He makes us sing it all day, except when the actual CD is on, then he gets mad if we try to sing along. This morning, Chuck was sleeping in and Colin went back to his room to play when I hear him break into a full version of “Fly me to the Moon.” It is hilarious to hear him say “baby kiss me…” or “you are all I long for all I worship and adore” - he even gets the pauses right. It became his favorite song because it has Jupiter and Mars in it and of course he loves space. He will also request “the Kick me song with the Champ pane” - meaning “I get a kick out of you”

He is still very into letters and reading more words. Plus he now is starting to know a lot of the sounds letters make. I can make a B, D, J, M, Z…etc sound and he can tell me what letter it is. He loves to say what different words start with and when you give him a letter he rattles of a bunch of words that start with that letter. It is pretty entertaining when we are waiting or don’t have anything else to do.

I also can’t get over his memory - and I am sure all little kids of this age. He can remember something we did 6 months ago and every detail about it. Plus you really have to give him the benefit of the doubt. We were talking about Frank Sinatra and Colin said something about him at the Michigan Theater…well in order to figure that one I had to realize Colin heard the trumpets, etc in the song, knew it was an orchestra, and that the last time he saw an orchestra it was at the Michigan Theater…so of course Frank Sinatra plays the Michigan Theater.

There is a lot more I could write about but we are so busy I just haven’t had time to blog. I imagine that won’t change anytime soon, but hopefully we can keep up a little better…

In the process of backing up our whole set of photos on Flickr right now - taking a little time to get caught up, but I’m up through July 2005, and we added a Flickr badge on the right that will hopefully be cycling through the latest and greatest in about a week. In the interim, here’s a couple oldies but goodies that I don’t think we blogged before:
