A few points from Mom

I guess I haven’t posted in awhile - been preoccupied with pregnancy, related issues, the house and Colin. I do have a couple of funny things to mention about Colin though.

Like I have said before - I feel like Colin is a bit ahead of himself - for example, he has started to act like a bored teenager. During the day he often tells me “Mommy, I need something to do.” - but imagine it in a pretty whiny voice. How does a barely 2 year old get bored? The other day, we got to art class early and the teacher wasn’t fast enough with the supplies and he keeps saying “come on, need something to do.”

Speaking of “come on” - he tends to use that all the time. He wanted to go upstairs and I said no let’s just stay down here and he says “Come on, mommy” - like someone who was annoyed that another person wouldn’t do what they wanted and was trying to convince them - “oh, come on…”

Just this morning he was licking the window in the front door (this I will admit, is more the behavior one would expect from a 2 year old). I kept running over to him and telling him not to do it - which he thought was hilarious. I would stand there and he would say “Mommy, go in the living room.” - I would ask why and he says “go look at the Christmas tree” - so I turn around to go and he starts licking the window again.

One more little story - yesterday I put him to bed for his nap. A few minutes later I hear him say “mommy - got a poop.” - I wasn’t sure if he was telling the truth or trying to get me to come to get him up, so I am standing by the door when I hear him say to himself “I got a poop…she can’t hear me.” I was absolutely amazed that he was sitting in his crib deducing why I wasn’t there yet. Of course I walked in and said “Colin, I can always hear you.” - he says “Ok, need new diaper.”

The more he talks the more amazing it is to me. Just ask Chuck about reading him stories. Colin can pretty much recite all the stories back to you including little phrases such as “George was curious…a chocolate bunny caught his eye.”

Sorry no pics on this one - Chuck always gets on my case about that - but he posted all the good pictures we have right now. Next time.
