Last post of July - tivo broke
Been feeling remiss about the blog lately, hopefully that doesn’t mean we’re shortchanging Colin on taking pictures and recording every second of his day. I don’t think that’s the case, but we’ll try to crank it up a notch through the remaining five months of the year, especially now that we know that at least 2 people check out the blog from time to time (thanks Mom and Riss!).
Colin loves Tivo. For as long as I can remember (stretching back the full 22+ months of his life thus far), he’s always gotten psyched when the telltale “ding” announces Tivo coming to life on the TV. More recently, I think a good deal of the excitement relates to his understanding that “Sesse Steet” (translation: sesame street) can be played any time of day through Tivo. These kids and their grasp on all that new fangled technology, I tell you.
So he’s always been a big fan, and yesterday he decided to do a more thorough investigation of the tivo box itself. Not sure why he didn’t get around to this until yesterday, because he “investigates” (translation: deconstructs and/or destroys) most things these days. In any case, he started playing around with the little tivo man on the front, and managed to pop it off the box - he then turns to Jess and me, and in a voice reminiscent of his ‘chip and salsa’ voice, goes “Tivo boke!” (translation: Tivo is broken!). So we ask him to fix it, so he sticks it on at about 15 degrees off center, stands up, claps his hands, and starts cheering (we were cheering as well, not sure who cheered first). At which point he proceeded to ‘break’ tivo about 12 more times.
Also got to webcam with the Arizona Fullers yesterday, which was fun - they’re a nutty bunch. Colin was obsessively demanding that anyone who was on the phone at the time must sing Itsy Bitsy Spider. Jess has him so brainwashed on Michigan that at the end of any song like that he cheers loudly and then shouts “Go Blue!” I’ve got to work on replacing that with “Go Heels!”
