Panera and reading

Two big events (from my own point of view).

Last week Colin and I stopped at Panera to get lunch. He likes the broccoli soup there…I debated ordering him a whole bowl, but I didn’t have much choice because they have no kid size soup. It was a good thing because he sat across from me and ate the whole bowl, with a regular size soup spoon. He would rip a piece of bread off and dip it in the soup and then eat a spoonful. He did a great job and didn’t even get that messy. After he finished his bowl he ate part of mine and right in the middle he goes “I happy”. He felt so grown up.

Then last night he was handing me letters in the bathtub and happened to give me a G and O. So I put them together and said “What does this say?” He replied “Go”, so I put the word “STOP” together and he said “Stop”, then he read “Hi” and “Zoo”. It was crazy.

I am really always surprised by the things he can do and he isn’t even 2 yet. I can only imagine it gets more and more surprising when they start asking questions and thinking complicated thoughts on their own.
